What corporate digital signage do headquarters need?

A corporate headquarters needs digital signage across five zones: lobby reception, a KPI or town-hall wall, employee comms screens, wayfinding, and meeting room status panels, run as one estate from a single CMS so brand templates, employee news and emergency messages cascade from lobby to floorplate in seconds. The discipline is treating signage as one system with zoned content rules, not five separate projects bolted onto the fit-out.
From the floor. The detail that decides whether the estate behaves like one system or five is the room-status panel choice. Joan and GoBright run their own little kingdoms and refuse to join the main signage CMS for the emergency-override broadcast, which means in a lockdown your reception 86 inch flips clean but every meeting-room panel still shows today's bookings. Either pick a room-status hardware that the main CMS can broadcast to, or wire a parallel relay path into the booking panels at install. (David Corker, Technical Sales Director)
| Zone | Typical hardware | Content |
|---|---|---|
| Lobby reception | 55" to 86" landscape or portrait, 700+ nits, or a dvLED wall for flagship offices | Brand video, visitor welcome, news ticker |
| KPI / town-hall wall | Video wall (2x2 to 3x3) or dvLED at 1.5 to 2.5mm pitch, or a 98" panel | Live BI dashboards, all-hands and town-hall playback |
| Employee comms | 43" to 55" landscape near canteens and breakout zones | Internal news, recognition, events, building services |
| Wayfinding | 32" to 55" portrait at lift lobbies, interactive at junctions | Floor maps, room directions, news layer |
| Meeting room status | 10" to 15" panels outside each room | Available / in use, current booking, walk-up reservation |
Lobby reception sets the tone and is the most heavily specified screen: many HQs go portrait with a single 75" or 86" panel, at 700 to 1,000 nits if the lobby is glazed, or a dvLED wall for a flagship office. The town-hall wall is sized to seat capacity and doubles as the all-hands playback surface. Employee comms screens are plain commercial panels (Samsung QM, LG UH, Philips P-Line) where staff pause, and a staff restaurant adds 43" to 55" menu boards.
The integration brief is what separates HQ signage from generic office signage: Microsoft 365 calendars for room status, Power BI or Tableau for KPI dashboards, the visitor management system for lobby flows and the building management system for energy or air-quality data. Run the whole estate from one CMS (Samsung MagicInfo, ScreenCloud, Mvix or Yodeck) with role-based permissions, so HR updates employee comms, marketing updates lobby content and facilities updates wayfinding without touching each other's screens, while brand templates and the emergency library sit in a locked folder with one approver. Specify the digital signage architecture at design stage so cabling, mounting and power are correct first time rather than retrofitted after Cat B handover.
Emergency-comms override is mandatory at HQ scale and is now load-bearing for Martyn's Law compliance. The CMS must accept a priority signal from the building's life-safety system (fire panel, voice alarm, mass notification) and immediately interrupt all normal content with evacuation, invacuation or lockdown messaging on every screen, room-status panels included. Build this into the HQ AV programme as a Cat B requirement, not an afterthought.
Quick reference: five zones (lobby reception, KPI or town-hall wall, employee comms, wayfinding, room status), one CMS with role-based access and content cascade, dvLED for lobby and town hall, commercial panels elsewhere, emergency override wired to the life-safety system.
